This section covers the most important attributes of your business that are displayed to customers.
These attributes are essential and commonly accepted across online platforms. It is crucial to keep this information up to date.
We recommend changing attributes in this section as infrequently as possible, with Hours being the only exception. Many of these attributes may require you to 'Reverify' your business details with certain platforms, such as Google.
Business Name
- The name of your business.
- It is recommended to keep this simple and avoid including any location information in the business title on your Google Business listing. Google may penalize you for this. Google has your address information and will use its algorithm to show the most relevant location based on the user's search.
- Bad example: "Pappy's Pizza - Huntsville"
- Good example: "Pappy's Pizza"
Address
- The mailing address of your business.
Main Phone
- The phone number your customers should use to call your business.
Website
- A link to your website where you'd like your customers to go to view your business.
Hours
- This section reflects the hours your business is open and closed.
- Consider this section as answering the question: "If a customer were to walk up to your doors, would the doors be unlocked?"
- The section below has an area for entering special hours for kitchen, lunch, brunch, etc.
Categories
- Up to 10 categories can be listed here.
- The first listed is the 'Primary' category, which is the most important and the main one Google will use to categorize your business.
- You can list 9 other 'Secondary' categories.
